Sharon Jennings

BSc Psych, CQSW, MA

Sharon has 20 years experience of enabling people to embrace change and achieve success. Sharon’s career began in Social Work and she went on to work as a counsellor and group facilitator before operating as a consultant.

Sharon brings interpersonal effectiveness, a skilled approach and sensitivity into all areas of her work. Her main areas of expertise are Action Learning Programmes, Team Building/ Development, Service Development, Conflict Resolution, Organisational Review, Management Development, Managing Diversity and Equalities Policy Implementation.

Sharon’s achievements include:

  • Working with Haringey PCT, Camden and Islington PCT, Victims Support Service and British Telecom, NCH – a national Children’s Charity and many London Borough Councils and a wide range of large and small voluntary sector organisations
  • Lecturing for the Open University
  • Teaching Social Workers and Health and Social Care Managers
  • Holding the post of Visiting Lecturer to the Goldsmiths College, University of London

Sharon has written several publications and articles on race and mental health issues affecting service users and care professionals. Among these is Creating Solutions: Developing Alternatives in Black Mental Health (1996), published by the Kings Fund. This well-received publication outlines the issues that arise in working in partnership across a number of professional and organisational boundaries and provides tools and strategies for overcoming these. Hence equality and valuing diversity feature highly in her work and she has a recognised track record of enabling participants on her programmes to analyse and eliminate barriers that inhibit success.
