Our Methods

Our spirit, values and approach

We draw upon our 25 years of experience working with a variety of organisations and issues. This experience enables us to effectively integrate a variety of different theories, models and approaches.

We believe in developing bespoke approaches rather than offering off-the-peg solutions as we recognise that every situation is unique. Our main concern is meeting the particular needs of our clients.

We work with some core principles. They are:

  • Transformational: rather than going through the motions we seek to support our clients achieve the kinds of changes that are lasting and significant.
  • Outcome focussed: we believe in working with the end state in mind. Once the end state is envisioned and designed (usually collaboratively) we work to maintain a focus on that desired outcome throughout the process of change.
  • Embodying and embracing of diversity: Our organisation is comprised of people from a variety of different backgrounds. We both embody diversity physically and embrace and integrate it into all areas of how we work. This is reflected in the approaches that we use and in the theories and models that we draw upon.
  • Working as partners with our clients: We work as learning partners with our clients. We help and encourage those that we work with to learn from the processes that we engage in so as to increase future capacity. We are also part of the learning process and make our learning available to our clients.
Working collaboratively to create relationships that enable solutions to emerge out of the partnering relationships that we establish as we co-inquire into how we can create the best possible outcomes.
  • Appreciative and Opportunity Focussed: We draw upon appreciative inquiry in our work. Rather than focusing on problems we focus on what our clients want to create. We work with optimism and belief that positive outcomes are always possible. We help our clients to place greater emphasis on seeking opportunities for improvement than on “what is wrong”.
Our strategic focus is essential to ensuring that whatever we do is tightly linked to the outcomes encapsulated in the organisations strategy. We have a lot of experience of supporting those who lead change and assisting them keep their “eyes on the prize”.

We recognise that, at the heart of all learning is the mind-sets, assumptions, influences, mental models and paradigms that people work with and communicate to their colleagues. These factors have a huge influence on the culture of the organisation and need to be addressed in any intervention designed to improve quality and productivity. It is an area in which we are skilled and have had considerable success.
