Action Learning

People Opportunities is one of the largest suppliers of action learning sets in the country, facilitating hundreds of sets a year. The action learning sets provide space, information, critique, strategy development and peer support to assist set members to seek and take advantage of opportunities and to engage positively with the challenges, emotional, personal, political and organisational that they face.

Our approach to action learning is infused with our "appreciative and transformational approach". This approach means that we view action learning sets as vehicles for identifying and seizing opportunities as well as for ‘solving problems’. We see sets as being creative, dynamic, supportive spaces for the development of innovative approaches to the issues that participants bring to them.

We often integrate action learning sets into the development programmes that we design and facilitate as this enables the learning to be embedded into successful organisational practice. We believe that action learning is one of the most effective ways of ensuring that change becomes embedded into the everyday culture of an organisation.
