
Over the last 21 years People Opportunities has been host to some of the most ground-breaking and successful thinking in the area of BME progress in organisations. We have developed models and approaches that meet the specific needs of BME people in organizations rather than just reproducing existing models and approaches. Though some of these have generic value they emanate and are grounded in the realities they face.
These contributions have resulted in some of the most dramatic and significant career shifts amongst Black and other ethnic minority staff. Our track record is outstanding and few other organisations have had the success that we have had. Typically at least 45% of BME staff that have attended one of our major programmes has achieved promotion within 12 months of completion. In recent assignments that figure is over 65%.
We are very clear that our interventions are Organisational Developments ones and distinguish ourselves from those who tack diversity and equality onto the rest of the real business of the organisation. To quote one of our clients; "diversity is not just important to the business. It is the business". We are in the business of assisting organisations transform their practice and not just engage in a simple exercise in ticking the right boxes. We only work with those who are serious about change and prepared t do the work to bring it about.
People Opportunities has a strong track record of delivering programmes, training packages to BME participants, people with disabilities, gender based groupings. As an organisation we both embody and embed diversity into our practice. Our approach is disciplined by both the highest professional standards and our collective personal commitment to equality and justice. We will do all that we can to ensure that individuals who attend the programme feel supported and inspired through the quality of the educational inputs and facilitation they experience.
